SyncRead is a teleprompter that scrolls your script as you speak, records video and creates captions. We built it so that your voice, scripts and videos stay on your phone. This policy explains what the app accesses and why.

1. Your voice stays on your device

• Speech recognition runs entirely on your phone using on-device models. Your audio is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
• We do not use your voice to train any model.

2. What the app stores on your phone

• Scripts you write or share into the app.
• Recordings you make, plus a low-quality audio copy used only to time captions. You can delete any recording in the app.
• Settings such as text size, caption style, your chosen languages, and how much of the free Pro trial you have used (number of videos saved and minutes of voice-follow).
• A short diagnostics log (e.g. "model loaded", error messages) used to troubleshoot. It is only shared if you choose to email or copy it to us.

This data stays on your device. Videos you save to your gallery remain in your gallery.

Backup: if Google backup is turned on for your phone, Android may back up your settings and scripts to your Google account so they come back when you reinstall or switch phones. Your Pro trial usage is also kept with Google's on-device Block Store so a reinstall doesn't reset it. Recordings and voice models are never backed up. Backups are handled by Google under your Google account settings; we have no access to them.

3. Permissions

• Microphone – to follow your voice and record audio with your video.
• Camera – to record video while you read.
• Display over other apps (optional) – for the floating prompter you can show above other apps.
• Notifications – to show that the floating prompter is running, with a button to close it.
• Internet – only to download voice models for the languages you choose and to handle purchases through Google Play.

4. Data we receive

• Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We receive the purchase status needed to unlock Pro; we never see your card or payment details. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Voice model downloads: model files are downloaded from a file host (currently Hugging Face). Like any download, the host sees your IP address and the file requested.
• Anonymous usage statistics: we use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — for example which languages are chosen, whether a voice download finished, how many videos are saved, and which screens lead to upgrading. This includes approximate location (country/city, derived from your IP address), device model, Android version and app version, linked to a random app-instance ID. It never includes your scripts, audio, video or captions, and we do not collect the advertising ID. See how Google uses this data.
• We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not sell personal data.

5. Children

SyncRead is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your choices

• Delete scripts and recordings in the app; remove downloaded languages in Settings.
• Revoke permissions any time in your phone's Settings.
• Cancel your subscription in Google Play › Subscriptions.

7. Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
